What is placenta encapsulation and why should I do it?
The placenta is an amazing organ your body grows for the sole purpose of nourishing your baby.
It is FULL of your body's own hormones and nutrients that can be very useful after birth.
We all know that nearly all mammals consume their placenta after giving birth. But did you know that cultures throughout history find it customary to prepare the placenta for the human mother to consume after birth? These cultures believe that the placenta is rich in nutrients that will greatly assist the mother to recover from childbirth, including slowing and stopping hemorrhaging during childbirth and helping with milk supply. Placentas have been used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) as long ago as in the 1500’s, which is longer than modern medicine has existed. It has been continued to be used due to an abundance of great properties believed to make a huge difference to a new mother’s mental health, recovery and well being.
Placenta Encapsulation allows us to greatly benefit from this practice,
but without the "gross factor". Basically the process is preparing the placenta via a couple different methods, drying it, grinding it into a fine powder and encapsulating it. So moms are able to take their placenta like a vitamin each day. It's very simple and "gross" free!

Beat the "Baby Blues" and Postpartum Fatigue.
The vast majority of mothers will experience some sort of postnatal mood disorder, with some estimates as high as 80%. When a mother suffers, it affects the entire family.
The placenta is the hormone powerhouse in the womb, once it is delivered; after baby, and after the rush of oxytocin, there is a huge hormonal dip in the body. The perfect remedy to stabilize this dip is to reintroduce these hormones (perfectly made by you, for you!) into your system by consuming placenta capsules. The placenta is also extremely nutrient rich; high in iron, protein, vitamins and minerals. By replenishing iron along with these other much needed nutrients, you could dramatically help combat postpartum fatigue!
(Not to mention, faster postpartum healing!)
Many women report a wonderful "Boost" in energy.

Lactation:
Worried about milk supply? Research does show evidence that dried placenta positively affects milk supply, with 86% of women in the experimental group having significant increase in milk production within four days of taking placenta. Due to the research, the focus of how placenta effects milk supply is on its hormonal content. The placenta retains hormones upon the birth and these hormones could be positively effecting a woman's milk production. More research is being done, and the question is not if placental hormones play a role in milk production, but which hormones or combination of hormones
are the key.
